What a great pair of bookends of these US Marine Corp Soldiers raising the American flag at Iwo Jima. Iwo Jima holds a special place in Marine Corps history and it was one of the fiercest battles of World War II. Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima is a historic photograph taken on February 23, 1945, by Joe Rosenthal.  It depicts five United States Marines and a U.S. Navy corpsman raising the flag of the United States atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.

These bookends are metal & old stock and they are VERY HEAVY, over 8 lb.! AND REALLY WORK holding a door open or a stack of books!.. They are cast metal and have a antique Brass finish
