The 1930'S Douglas DC-3 AIRPLANE TABLE LAMP on the EARTH Base

This is a superb quality Art Deco Aluminium & Glass casting of the legendary Douglas DC3 Aircraft produced from 1936 to 1942.

Over 16,000 DC3s were produced and many remain in service around the World today!

The casting is in Aluminium (not cheap plated material!) polished to a beautiful lustre and treated to prevent tarnishing.

A 1970's, re-issue of the original 1930's DC-3 Airplane. The light bulb is in the body of the plane + the light shines out the windows - the lamp is for atmosphere, not reading. There are two screws under the wing that removes the body to change the light bulb.The plane is cast aluminum with a felt bottom. The center rod is bendable under the plane so it can be aimed up or down, left or right. The propellers are a pewter metal.

The lamp provides a beautiful warm light for a den, study or TV room, a truly iconic piece!

This plane was also originally used on top of the Smoke Stands from Canada from the 1930's and 1940's.
